Child Custody Battle Between Singer and Ex-Girlfriend Really Heating Up

It has seemingly become a daily occurrence that news of a celebrity break-up, or child support dispute, appears in the papers. As such, it is evident that celebrities are no strangers to divorce and other family law issues, including child custody and child support, and their wealth and fame cannot shield them from experiencing the same kinds of emotions and feelings that all individuals experience during these trying times.

Regardless of if you are a celebrity, a child custody and/or support dispute is difficult and, fortunately, most people in Macomb County engaged in such disputes can do so out of the public eye. This is not the case for rapper/actor Christopher Brian Bridges, better known as Ludacris, as he has been involved in a very public and contentious child custody and support battle with his ex-girlfriend, Tamika Fuller, since the beginning of 2014.

According to reports, despite the rapper/actor’s pleas that he had no money for child support, an Atlanta judge ordered him to pay $7,000 per month to support the ex-couple’s daughter. Ms. Fuller has made many claims that Mr. Bridges is a “dead-beat dad” and that he wants nothing to do with his daughter. However, the musician claims, “Nothing could be further from the truth.” The rapper/actor says he is a good father to his daughter, as well as to his older child from another relationship.

Recently, Mr. Bridges proposed to his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Eudoxie Mbouguiengue, and married her within two weeks of the engagement. According to Ms. Fuller, the marriage is simply a sham in order for the singer to gain custody of his daughter and avoid paying any more child support. Ms. Fuller claims that Ludacris is trying to portray himself as a good husband and father, while simultaneously looking like a bad, money hungry, single mother. This very public battle will no doubt continue to be played out through the media, as the couple awaits its day in court.

This sad story is just further proof that, no matter who you are, divorce, child custody and child support disputes are complex and difficult. That is why having the help of an experienced family law attorney in your corner can be such a blessing for anyone going through one or more of these situations.
